Training Course on Agricultural Cooperatives and Farmer Organizations Management

Agricultural Cooperatives and Farmer Organizations Management Training Course

Duration: 5 Days

Location: Nairobi

Course Overview
Agricultural cooperatives and farmer organizations are vital platforms for empowering smallholder farmers, aggregating production, accessing markets, and increasing bargaining power. However, weak governance, limited managerial capacity, and lack of sustainability strategies often hinder their effectiveness.
This course equips participants with the knowledge and tools to establish, manage, and strengthen cooperatives and farmer-based organizations (FBOs) as engines of rural transformation. It covers legal frameworks, governance structures, financial management, service delivery models, and strategies for institutional sustainability and growth.
Participants will gain practical skills to improve leadership, member participation, access to finance, and market integration. Real-life case studies and practical simulations will help learners understand how to transform farmer groups into dynamic, well-managed business-oriented institutions.
