Training Course on Pre-positioning and Emergency Relief Supply Chains
Duration: 5 Days
Location: Nairobi
Course Overview
Pre-positioning is a critical strategy in emergency preparedness that enables rapid deployment of relief supplies when disasters strike. This course equips participants with the strategic and operational skills to design, manage, and optimize pre-positioning systems and emergency relief supply chains that ensure timely, efficient, and coordinated humanitarian responses.
Participants will explore the full cycle of emergency supply chain management—from needs forecasting and pre-positioning stock to activation, dispatch, last-mile delivery, and replenishment. The course also covers coordination with government, donors, and humanitarian partners, as well as storage design, buffer stock planning, and integration of digital tools for visibility and tracking.
Designed for logistics, supply chain, and emergency preparedness professionals, the training combines global best practices, real-world case studies, and simulation exercises to strengthen emergency response capabilities at both local and global levels.
