Educational Planning Policy and Institutional Development

Training Course on Educational Planning Policy and Institutional Development

Duration: 5 Days

Location: Nairobi

Course Overview
In an increasingly complex and fast-changing educational environment, sound planning, evidence-based policy formulation, and institutional development are critical to achieving quality, equity, and efficiency in education systems. Educational leaders and planners must be equipped with tools to assess systemic needs, anticipate future trends, and design adaptive strategies that align with national priorities and global commitments such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This course is designed to build the capacity of professionals in education sectors—government, academia, and development agencies—to undertake strategic planning, interpret and influence policy, and lead institutional development initiatives. It explores the interconnectedness of education planning and policy with institutional effectiveness, financing, governance, curriculum design, quality assurance, and inclusivity.
Participants will engage in applied exercises, simulations, and real-life case studies to develop planning frameworks, analyze policy gaps, and build institutional strategies that drive sustainable development in education. The course promotes a systems-thinking approach to understanding education as a transformative force in economic, social, and national development.
