Training Course on Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for Infrastructure

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for Infrastructure Training Course

Duration: 5 Days

Location: Nairobi

Course Overview
Infrastructure projects—such as roads, bridges, dams, energy facilities, and urban developments—can significantly affect the environment and local communities. To ensure sustainable and responsible development, it is critical to conduct thorough Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) that identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential negative impacts while enhancing positive outcomes.
This course equips participants with practical knowledge and tools to conduct comprehensive ESIAs in line with international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental and Social Framework, and national regulatory requirements). Participants will learn how to analyze environmental, social, and cultural impacts, develop mitigation measures, and design Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) to guide infrastructure project planning and implementation.
Through case studies, hands-on exercises, and real-world scenarios, participants will gain expertise in stakeholder engagement, risk management, and monitoring, ensuring infrastructure projects achieve compliance, sustainability, and community acceptance.
