Training Course on Fundamentals of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Duration: 5 Days
Location: Nairobi
Course Overview
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a critical function in the design, implementation, and oversight of development programs, public sector initiatives, and donor-funded projects. This course offers a comprehensive foundation in M&E, enabling participants to understand its role in improving project performance, enhancing accountability, and facilitating evidence-based decision-making.
Participants will be introduced to the key concepts, principles, and methodologies underpinning effective M&E systems. The course explores how M&E fits into the broader results-based management (RBM) framework and supports learning, transparency, and adaptive management throughout the project life cycle.
Through a combination of theory and practice, participants will gain hands-on experience in designing M&E frameworks, developing indicators, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting findings. The course emphasizes the importance of aligning M&E practices with organizational goals, donor requirements, and the needs of stakeholders.
Whether supporting a large national program or managing a community-based initiative, participants will learn how to generate credible evidence of progress and use it to improve the relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability of interventions.
